What we do

With the help of our supporters, we make a difference to the the lives of millions of children every year. Guided by our vision to protect the rights of children and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, we help children in the following areas:

Health

We improve the health of children and their families so children can survive those early years of life. We help protect them from preventable illnesses that stop them playing with their friends, developing important skills and staying in school.

Education

The best way to break the cycle of poverty is to keep children in the classroom. That's why we work in Australia and overseas to create greater access to quality education and ensure girls and boys are able to learn in safe and positive environments.

Child Protection

It is everyone's responsibility to ensure children are safe at all times. We work in Australia and around the world to prevent children being exposed to abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence. We inform others on how they can do their part in protecting children.

Emergencies

When disaster strikes, we make sure children are given care and emotional support to survive and recover. We provide them with food, water, shelter and comfort, and build temporary schools so they can continue to learn and maintain a normal life while we help their communities to rebuild.

Climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction

We know children can positively contribute to the safety of their communities. That's why we're working with them to reduce their vulnerability to natural disasters, and withstand the impacts of climate change, so they can protect their communities in future.
